Lionel Messi’s first player registration card with Barcelona from 2001
When the three World Footballer of the Year Finalists were announced awhile back, I thought Xavi was most deserving of the honour. Even though I’d bought my kid an Iniesta jersey a couple years ago and even though Lionel Messi was also on the ballot.
As great as Xavi is (and he’s been a bit off form the last six months really), there really is no doubt that not only was Messi clearly deserving of the title but that he may well be the best player ever.
Barcelona won the title today with a 1-1 draw away to Levante. It was a fairly safe, unnaturally tentative performance by Barcelona and Messi didn’t score but twice he beat four defenders in a tight space and then left the keeper for dead only to see one hit the post and the other roll just wide. If they’d gone in both would have been goal of the year candidates.
Congratulations to Barcelona and thanks to Lionel Messi who, as Alves once said of Xavi, plays in the future.
U’ve kept the best of all in uefa league i’ve ever seen. Am prond of u man. Keep it up.
Hey I think that’s the first comment from outside,
North America,Canada, Vancouver!By they way one of the most memorable games I ever saw was in Kenya. Gor Mahia v Transcom in 1990. It was like watching a Bruce Lee movie. And we almost got trampled in a stampede near the end of the game.
Always been very handsome
